ラーメンと中華そば

『ラーメンと中華そば』

　娘が4，5才の頃、実家に帰った時の話です。ある日二人で下町に行った時にラーメンが食べたくなり、ラーメン屋さんを一生けんめい探しました。しかし見つからず、ラーメンを食べられませんでした。実家に帰ってその話をすると、「この辺ではラーメンは中華そばと言うのだよ。」と言われ、びっくりしました。実家の家族たちに大笑いされました。

"Lamian and shino-soba (Chinese noodles in soup)"

　It happened when I came back to my parent's home at my daughter's age of four or five. One day when we went downtown, we felt like eating lamian and made an effort to look for a　lamian shop, which turned out a failure. We could not eat it. When I told the family at my parent's home about what had happed downtown, they said to me, "lamian is called Shino-soba here.", which made me surprised. They had a hearty laugh about the happenings.
